Who do I contact to find out more information about Hiram Hornets Basketball?

Much of the information about Hiram Hornets Basketball can be found at www.hiramathletics.com/basketball. If you need additional information, we advise you to contact the HHS Basketball Head Coaches

Where do I find out what activities/events are coming up?

Go to the Calendar tab on the website. Most new information will be posted in a timely manner on the Calendar. Once you are on the calendar, choose a particular date, and then click on a specific event and an event balloon will open to provide more information (location, grade level of participation, directions, etc.).

What is the parent/family commitment?

Support the program with your enthusiasm by attending the games, wearing Purple & Gold and getting involved! Working in the concession stand, building relationships in the community, maintaining a positive attitude about the program, and support the overall good of the program

When does Basketball Try-out Begin? 

  • High School:  Generally the last week of October
  • Jr. League: Mid-September

What about summer workouts? 

Summer Workouts begin immediately after the last day of school in May. Summer Practice lasts through the entire month of June. The program attends numerous college/universities for team camps.

Should my rising freshman take weight training as a class at HHS? 

Yes, we want ALL players, grades 9 – 12, to take Weight Training every year during their entire high school career.

What are the fees are associated with Participating in the Program?

  • Player fee: $450 and that payment are made payable through PayPal. (High School)
  • Player fee: $275 and that payment are made payable through PayPal. (Jr. League)

Where does this money go?

Monies collected and raised on behalf of the HHS Basketball Program go towards the equipment, equipment maintenance, capital improvements, various basketball events, and player clothing. Basically any need necessary to improve and support the basketball program, etc.

Is insurance required for my child to participate?

Yes. If you do not have medical insurance for your player, you can get affordable individual insurance through Paulding County Schools. Forms are located at the Hiram High School Front Office or Athletic Director Office.

Where do the gate entrance fees go?

The entrance fees (e.g. ticket sales) do not go to the basketball program, but to the school’s general athletic fund.

Do we have to fundraise?

Fundraising is essential to HHS Basketball in order to keep the program strong and vital. We make every effort to limit the amount of fundraising activities, but need your full support to keep fundraising to a minimum.

Can I pay for my player fee with installment payments? 

Absolutely!  The full payment must be received before December 16, 2016. Arrangements can be made with our Head Coach.
