Head Cheerleading Coach – Shonta’ Golden Pauldin

Coach Pauldin currently teaches Cosmetology at Hiram High School. She has been teaching Cosmetology since 2012 and has been working in the industry since 2010. She received her Bachelor of Science from Albany State University, Master of Education from Valdosta State University, and Specialist Degree from Piedmont University. She also received her double license as a Master Cosmetologist and Cosmetology Instructor from Empire Beauty School’s program. Coach Pauldin has been the Varsity Basketball Coach since 2018 and received the Positive Coaches’ Award for the North West Region in 2019. She has accepted the position as Head Cheer Coach for the 2021-2022 season. Cheerleading is one of her true passions and she enjoys inspiring and motivating young athletes to pursue their dreams. Gooooo Hornets!!!!!!
Coach Pauldin is from the Coastal Region of South Georgia and enjoys dancing, roller skating, playing tennis, and spending time at home with her husband and children. She loves being a part of the Hornet Nation at Hiram High School, where she is honored to have be nominated for the Teacher of the Year Award by her Hornet Family during the 2020-2021 school year.



Varsity Football Coach – Charlotte Holmes

Charlotte Holmes is Hiram High School’s Varsity Football Cheerleading Coach and teaches Audio, Video, Technology & Film at Hiram HS (grades 9-12). She has been teaching AVT&F since 2012 and has been working in the industry since 2006. Coach Holmes received her Broadcasting Certification in 2002, a Bachelor of Art for Instructional Design from Arizona Global University in 2020, and her Master of Education at West Georgia in 2023.

Coach Holmes is originally from Boston, Massachusetts where she lived for over 30 years before relocating to Georgia. The mother of two loves to travel, try new foods, while spend time with friends and family. Coach Holmes has visited over 14 states, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic but her favorite foodie place is New Orleans for the Cajun cuisine.

Coach Holmes has coached many students in regional, state, and national film competitions. Additionally, she coached her daughter’s soccer team even though she knew nothing about the sport, leading them to two undefeated seasons.

Coach Holmes background in aesthetics coupled with her enthusiasm to motivate young adults serves as a asset to the Hiram community.

Assistant Varsity Cheerleading: Coach Walker

Coach Walker has been working with student athletes in various capacities for over 10 years. She earned a Master of Science degree in Sport Administration from Georgia State University in 2010. While pursuing this degree, she also worked as an academic advisor in the athletics department at Georgia State. In 2018, she received her Doctorate Degree in Professional Counseling from the University of West Georgia.
Coach Walker was born and raised in southwest Alabama, and she has lived in Georgia since 2005. She enjoys traveling, reading, financial planning, and spending time with her family and friends. She is grateful to be a part of the Hiram High School family, and she is thrilled to work with the Hornet cheerleaders.

Junior Varsity Cheerleading Coach – Marie Blakely

Coach Blakely brings her cheerleading experience to the team, combining a passion for the sport with a deep commitment to fostering teamwork, discipline, and spirit. She is passionate about developing well-rounded athletes who excel in both skill and teamwork.

Coach Blakely emphasizes the importance of hard work, perseverance, and a positive attitude, striving to create a supportive and fun atmosphere where every athlete can thrive. Her coaching philosophy centers on building strong technical skills, fostering team unity, and encouraging personal growth. She strives to ensure each athlete is empowered to reach their full potential.

Coach Blakely was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. When not coaching, she enjoys traveling, reading, watching sports, and spending time with her husband and three children. She is excited to help the JV team grow both as individuals and as a unified squad.

Coach Blakely is eager to continue building a successful program that represents Hiram High School with pride, dedication, and enthusiasm!

Assistant Junior Varsity Cheerleading Coach – Jamesa Hodge

Coach Hodge proudly serves as the Assistant Coach for the Hiram High School Junior Varsity Cheerleading Squad. With multiple years of coaching experience, she is excited to continue supporting the Hiram Hornets Cheer Program and helping young athletes shine.

Coach Hodge holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Georgia State University, a Master of Arts in Teaching in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University, and a Specialist in Education in Educational Leadership from Georgia College and State University. She brings 15 years of dedicated service in the field of education, currently serving as the Principal of Bessie L. Baggett Elementary School, a proud member of the Hiram High School Feeder Program.

Outside of her professional career, Coach Hodge is a devoted wife and mother of two. Her daughter cheers for the Hiram High School Varsity Cheerleading Squad, and her son plays basketball for the Hiram Junior Hornets.

The Hiram community is truly like family to her, and she looks forward to an amazing coaching season ahead!
