Head Cheerleading Coach – Shonta’ Golden Pauldin

Coach Pauldin currently teaches Cosmetology at Hiram High School. She has been teaching Cosmetology since 2012 and has been working in the industry since 2010. She received her Bachelor of Science from Albany State University and her Master of Education from Valdosta State University. She also received her double license as a Master Cosmetologist and Cosmetology Instructor from Empire Beauty School’s program.
Coach Pauldin has been the Varsity Basketball Coach since 2018 and received the Positive Coaches’ Award for the North West Region in 2019. She has accepted the position as Head Cheer Coach for the 2021-2022 season. Cheerleading is one of her true passions and she enjoys inspiring and motivating young athletes to pursue their dreams. Gooooo Hornets!!!!!!
Coach Pauldin is from the Coastal Region of South Georgia and enjoys dancing, roller skating, playing tennis, and spending time at home with her husband and children. She loves being a part of the Hornet Nation at Hiram High School, where she is honored to have be nominated for the Teacher of the Year Award by her Hornet Family during the 2020-2021 school year.

 



Varsity Football Coach – Charlotte Holmes

Charlotte Holmes is Hiram High School’s Varsity Football Cheerleading Coach. Coach Holmes currently teaches Audio, Video, Technology & Film at Hiram High School and Paulding Virtual Academy (grades 9-12). She has been teaching AVT&F since 2012 and has been working in the industry since 2006. Coach Holmes received her Broadcasting Certification in 2002, a Bachelor of Art for Instructional Design from Arizona Global University in 2020, and is currently working on her Master of Education at West Georgia.

Coach Holmes is originally from Boston, Massachusetts where she lived for over 30 years before relocating to Georgia with her two children and husband. She loves to travel, try new foods, and spend time with friends and family. Coach Holmes has visited over 14 states, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic but her favorite foodie place is New Orleans for the Cajun cuisine.

As an AVT&F teacher, Coach Holmes has coached many students in regional, state, and national film competitions. Two years ago she volunteered to coach her daughter’s soccer team even though she knew nothing about the sport. Her diligence and determination led her to learn everything she could about the sport and support the developing learners. This year the team tied for first in the division. Coach Holmes is excited to bring the same mindset to Hiram’s cheer program!

 

 


Assistant Varsity Cheerleading: Coach Walker

Coach Walker has been working with student athletes in various capacities for over 10 years. She earned a Master of Science degree in Sport Administration from Georgia State University in 2010. While pursuing this degree, she also worked as an academic advisor in the athletics department at Georgia State. In 2018, she received her Doctorate Degree in Professional Counseling from the University of West Georgia.
Coach Walker was born and raised in southwest Alabama, and she has lived in Georgia since 2005. She enjoys traveling, reading, financial planning, and spending time with her family and friends. She is grateful to be a part of the Hiram High School family, and she is thrilled to work with the Hornet cheerleaders.

 
 


Junior Varsity Cheerleading Coach – Marie Blakely

Marie Blakely is the Hiram High School’s Junior Varsity Head Cheerleading Coach. She developed a passion for the sport when she began cheering in middle school. She has two daughters that were with the Hiram youth program before joining the program herself as a coach. This is her second year coaching and she’s excited to learn and grow with the program. She’s looking forward to working with the team, helping them develop their skills, and watching them grow from teammates to friends.
When she is not coaching, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, traveling, and shopping. She’s excited to start her coaching career with the Hiram Junior varsity squad and she’s looking forward to what the year will bring.
