
He is married to Shamela, and they have three children: Joe Jr., Ben, Angie.
Scott brings 22 years of football coaching experience and accolades, as well as collegiate playing experience to Hiram. He was nominated as the Region 5-AAAAA Assistant Football Coach of the Year in 2016. In addition to his football coaching role, he has also been a head track coach at South Paulding High School and Cartersville Middle School.
Scott played football for Georgia Southern University (1998-2002) and was on the Division I-AA National Champions team in 1999 and 2000. Georgia Southern won the Southern Conference Championship every year of his playing career (1998-2002). He was selected to the All-Southern Conference Team (2001 and 2002) and was team captain during his collegiate career.
Scott is a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, received his Master of Education in General Science from Cambridge College, and his Specialist of Education degree from the University of West Alabama. His classroom teaching experience includes General Science, Special Education Science, and Heath/PE.
